Blog Archive Harvard Business School Eliminates Round 3 MBA Applications As spring blooms, preparation for the 2018â"2019 MBA admissions season kicks into full gear. And although Harvard Business School (HBS) will not begin accepting applications until early June, the school has released its deadlines for the upcoming seasonâ"this year, however, with a twist. The third and final round of applications that HBS has typically accepted in the spring has been eliminated altogether for those seeking regular MBA admission. Therefore, applicants hoping to gain admission into the Class of 2021 will now have to apply in either Round 1, which has a deadline of September 5, 2018, or in Round 2, which ends on January 4, 2019. Current college seniors interested in the 2+2 program, however, can still apply in the spring. HBS Managing Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Chad Losee explained the decision in a post on the schoolâs admissions blog, noting that by avoiding Round 3, admitted students will now have a smoother transition into the program. âGetting a decision earlier will give admitted students better access to on-campus housing, more cohort options for HBX CORe, and more time for visa processing,â Losee wrote. âFor students admitted in Round 3 in the past, the timing has always been tight. We know it takes a lot to finish up a job and move to a new city (!) and we hope the additional time will be helpful to admits on a number of fronts.â So, if you have your eye on a spot in the HBS Class of 2021, be sure to take note of the changeâ"and put your best foot forward just a bit sooner!
